I created a very quick and easy logo when a client asked for a few recommendations. This logo did not make the cut but you can download the complete PSD.

I was recently approced to create a one page flyer that could be mailed, or email via PDF to potential prospects. It is a tight deadline and even tighter budget.
I created the logo for the company and took the photos that make up the document. My only gripe is that it was a very overcast day and I left a good filter at home.

This is was an one page ad that I created for Crash Rescue/PolyBilt Bodies. The ad was based on a truck built for the United States Navy. I used a high exposure setting in Photoshop and added photo look to the smaller truck pictures.
The ad was created for 4 color glossy paper.
I am working on getting my collection of Photoshop (PS) files that I have created over the past few years here on the web site. This is a very large collection and will take several months to complete. Here is a PSD that I designed a couple years back for a online retailer. You can create your own fire like image with a few filters that are already built into PS and some layers.

I have just completed a project for Polybilt.com of Ocala FL. The project was to create four banners that are 23 inches wide by 83 inches long for the FDIC Trade 2006 Show. The project was a taxing even on my dual core machine. The photoshop files themselves were over 1.2 gigs a piece. Just saving the document took about 10 minutes.
I created the background gradient and truck bodies in photoshop and then placed them in InDesign and added the text. This worked out really well. We could only print 19 inch proofs but they looked great on paper. However, the banners will be cloth. No way to really get a proof on that. So I am going by experience with most of this banner.
The process for the banners was extremely long. First I needed good 6+ megapixels photos of the bodies (6 total) then I had to edit the bodies. It took almost a good afternoon just to get a good working body colored red. Remember that most of the bodies were white or a shade of white. Once I had the bodies I did a test proof at full resolution and look for problems.
Next I created my main working document in photoshop. Here I added a gradient that will come in from either the right or the left. The I placed the runner text along the other side. Next I added the bodies and saves for InDesign. I then added all my text using InDesign and printed them off with Acrobat.
A few weeks later and some sleepless nights trying to figure out a good look for some of the bodies here is my finished product. The banner will be on display at the Polybilt booth in Aprils FDIC show.
I am creating a 28×83 inch banner for a fireman trade show that is coming up in April 2006. I have to create four banners that contain shots of bodies and its my job to make sure these bodies look good on the cloth they are printed on. The company www.Polybit.com is going to uses these banners for a booth at the show.
I have been in the process since November to get images (body shots) of the companies product. It was a rock start in the beginning because they did not have any good shots on cameras that could sustain a 5+ megapixel shot that I was needing. So this company purchased a new camera and took shots of the bodies that they had and sent them to me.
The job in cleaning up a body takes several hours to even a day or so. Most of the bodies are white and need to be painted red without looking like you painted the body in Photoshop. Below is an example of a body that I work on Monday and Tuesday. This body look great printed at 22 inch. Once this project is complete I will have seven or eight bodies that all have the same style and feel.

Fig.1 I was told this was a body that we were going to use for our banner this body was shot that day and sent to me for review. I needed to clean this body and get it ready for the banner ad but there was much to do with the look. First off this was shot outside on a sunny day with glare and reflections all over the body.
You will also notice that this body has several items from the wheel to a rack attached. These items take away from the look of pure body focus I was going for. So I traced the body and made several backup layers in Photoshop. Fig. 2 was the body removed from the photo and cleaned. I took the rack off and fixed some glare and holes in the body.

Fig. 3 is when I cleaned up the wheel well and darkened the overall look of the image. This allowed me to use layers to brighten the image up. At this time I was painting out the doors and all white space on the image. Fig.4 is a close look at the wheel well that I added to the image. This adds depth to any body shot without taking away from the look.

Fig. 5 is a layer that contains paths. Here I added two circle paths that would clean up those black holes around the wheel well. Again all the details add up to a great final product. Fig. 6 Now is the time to brighten the doors or the white areas within the body. By making these a white shade this enhances the appearance of a studio shot without washing the picture out.

Fig. 7 Using a special paint layer that I created I was able to paint the body with a textured grey layer. Adding this special look to the photo gives the photo a realistic look. This also adds to the bright shades of red that we use on the banner and in ads. Fig. 8 Now I add a red CMYK color that is very close to the same fire truck reds we paint on real fire trucks. This red is very smooth because of the layer coat from Fig 7.

Fig. 9 I now am going to add a shading effect to the image in the next two steps. The first step is shading the body itself. This tricks the eye into thinking its a 3D object. Fig. 10 is the final step when coming to editing this image. Here I add two different shades of feathered brushes this just adds that key word again "Depth" and that is the final product.
